zx The Queensland Early Years Curriculum Guidelines
The Preparatory Year of schooling is a play based curriculum which is co-constructed between the teacher and the children. Prep teachers in state schools and most non-state schools use the Early Years Curriculum Guidelines.
The Preparatory Year aims to build continuity between children’s prior experiences and their future learning in schools.
Prior learning considers factors such as linguistic backgrounds, gender, ethnic identities, economic situations, abilities and disabilities, learning styles, health concerns, family structures, religious practices and spiritual beliefs.
