All classes have the opportunity to borrow during school time at a specified time. Borrowing is also encouraged during lunchtime and before school. Students are encouraged to change books on a weekly basis. All students are given a maximum of two weeks to return the borrowed items.
Prep children may borrow 1 book per week (Junior Fiction). Year 1 to Year 4 may borrow 2 books per week. They are encouraged to choose 1 Junior Fiction book and 1 Non-Fiction book. Year 5 children borrow 3 books, one of which is an Accelerated Reader book, Year 6 - 7 children may borrow 3 books. Year 7 children may choose a book from the Year 7 only area. These books are suitable for Pre-Teens to Teens.
All students are expected to use the School’s Library satchel (waterproof) to help protect the books. These are brought to the Resource Centre each borrowing time. A plastic shopping bag may be used if there is no satchel. Resource Centre books should not be in the bag with drink bottles and food.
If a student knows that he/she will be on a vacation inside school time or leaving the school to attend another school, please ensure that his/her books are returned before leaving.
